G) Sing (TIFF 2016)

Picture
Universal Pictures.
G
Running Time: 110 Minutes
3 and a half stars out of 4.

Illumination Entertainment's follow-up to this summers smash-hit "The Secret Life of Pets" is not only the best animated film of the year, it is one of the best films of the year so far. Sing is a funny, beautiful, moving, and extremely entertaining film that tells a story about the hustle to survive in the time we have. Director Garth Jenning's has assembled an all-star cast of gifted comedians who do a sensational job with the material, and truly elevate the material to be more than just a "standard" children's animated film. Sing is the most fun you will have at the movies this year, and you will find it very hard not to sing/dance along to all of the great music covers featured in the film.
