Director Tate Taylor's "The Girl On The Train" attempts to recreate the winning formula that made 2014's "Gone Girl" a critical and commercial success, yet fails at nearly every attempt. Not only is "The Girl On The Train" "Gone Girl Lite" it is essentially a theatrical lifetime original movie. While Emily Blunt does her best to work with the weak material she is given, I often felt as if she was miscast in the role. "The Girl On The Train" has some interesting plot points and performances, but the film is too poorly paced and written to be anything more than another standard book to film adaptation.
